The New Year is here! I'm not wishing 2020 away, but I do intend to make 2021 my best year yet. With things I can control. Even if bad stuff happens.
I'm planning to take my birthday off (1/11) and will do some goal-setting on that day. But my goals so far include:
- Listening to a news roundup podcast regularly and reading a weekly paper (like the WSJ)
- Scheduling my internet browsing to the evening, and no non-essential internet browsing for at least a month. Hopefully this will free up enough time for the news podcast and the reading!
- Quitting sugar completely - it just doesn't make me feel good, so why not just quit?
- Continuing to explore Zen Buddhism
- Taking a short "sabbatical" in April, if possible - though that may get pushed off if I have to take a bunch of time off due to a COVID quarantine in January or February. If not in April, then hopefully in the summer
Last night we did a Zoom NYE with some friends, and it was fun. Went to bed by 11pm. People set off a bunch of (illegal, I think) fireworks all around us, which was annoying, but I they didn't seem to wake up the kids.
