Running

Getting excited for the SF marathon!

I love running and currently run at least 2-3 miles almost daily. It's a habit, and most often I run in the mornings, before my daughter wakes up. I love watching the world wake up, especially during the times of year when I can run at dawn. But I do it in the dark if I need to - luckily, I live in an area where it feels safe. Though in my 20s I have also run in parts of San Francisco that maybe were a little less safe?

My husband and I used to run together weekly or even more frequently, but now it's more rare since we have a kid. We still manage to go once or twice a month though.
Love running at sunrise!
I also love my jogging stroller (a Bob Revolution, which by the way has had some controversy around it, but we've ensured that the front wheel is on correctly and won't fall off). M and I go for a jog about once a week, and she is able to stay in the stroller for about 30-40 minutes, for which I'm grateful.

All that said, I wouldn't consider myself a "serious" runner because I don't tend to train for races. I've done a few 5Ks and 10Ks, a half marathon, as well as the San Francisco Marathon three years ago. But other than that, I'm usually not training for anything.

I would like to train for another marathon at some point, but would like to do so with a buddy or a group so that I can also fit in some more "social time". Now I usually listen to podcasts.

It's just such a great way to start the day, and it's like a thread that strings together my years and my life. I hope that I get to continue it for at least a couple more decades!

Below are some photos taken during my recent morning runs.
